Funding Opportunities
Which source of funding can I apply for?
Whether you are a scientist interested in carrying out research at the MPIPZ, or an MPIPZ postdoc planning your next career steps, it is always worth checking funding opportunities in advance.
When planning to apply for funding, it is important to consider the eligibility criteria and to focus on the overall objective of the grant, fellowship, or programme. Applicants should also be aware of how many years after defending their doctoral thesis they remain eligible to apply, how soon after starting a new position an application can be made, and whether or not international mobility is a requirement.
If you are considering to apply for EU funds (e.g. Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, ERC, etc.), please inform the Postdoc Coordinator , who will put you in touch with the EU Liaison Officer for assistance.
Below is a list of major fellowships, grants, short-term funding schemes, and travel awards that you can apply for in Germany. This is not an exhaustive list, and you should always check for the latest information, as guidelines may change. Moreover, if you are looking for other programmes to go abroad, please consult the following resources:
