Ultramicrotomy

At our Institute, two ultramicrotomes available for ultrathin sectioning of resin-embedded samples are available. A Reichert-Jung Ultracut E allows for standard ultrathin sectioning at room temperature. In addition to ultramicrotomy at room temperature, the RMC PowerTome PT PC can be fitted with a cryochamber for cryo-sectioning and cryo-planing as well as with the advanced substrate holder ASH2 for serial sectioning and subsequent 3D electron microscopy by array tomography.
