Guided Tours

We coordinate visitor groups and guided tours of the institute.

Would you like to see what modern plant research looks like in practice? Then join us on an exciting journey of discovery through the Max Planck Institut for Plant Breeding Research and take a look behind the scenes of our research.

During the public institute tour, you will learn what our scientists are working on and why plant research plays a key role in the future of agriculture, the environment, and food security. You will visit our greenhouses, get to know a variety of research plants up close, and gain insights into a real research laboratory.

The tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and begins with an engaging introductory presentation of about 20 minutes, providing a clear and accessible overview of our research. This is followed by a guided tour of the institute.

The German-language tour takes place with a minimum of 15 participants and a maximum group size of 20 people.

The next public tour will take place on May 19 from 15:00 to 16:30.

Registration is possible via email at pr@mpipz.mpg.de .

Special programs for school classes can be found on our page on school offers.

If you would like to be informed about future tours and other public events, please contact us at pr@mpipz.mpg.de. We will be happy to add you to our events newsletter.
