Jane Parker was elected as a member of the Leopoldina

In recognition of her outstanding contribution to Plant Biology, Prof. Dr. Jane Parker was elected as a member of the Leopoldina German National Academy of Sciences in July, 2013. The Leopoldina is the world’s oldest national academy of natural sciences. It was founded in 1652 in the Free Imperial City of Schweinfurt. Since 1878, it resides in Halle on the Saale river. The Leopoldina was appointed Germany's National Academy of Sciences in July 2008. Scientists who have distinguished themselves by demonstrating academic excellence are elected as members representing subject areas according to the Leopoldina’s section structure.
