Alan Wanke
Main Focus
Alan obtained his Master’s degree in Biosciences at
the University of Münster in 2016. During his studies, he mainly focused on
protein biochemistry, biophysics and theoretical biology within a variety of plant-related
topics. The main objective of his PhD is the role of fungal β-glucans
as microbe-associated molecular patterns for the plant innate
immunity. Furthermore, he is interested in the involvement of glucans in
biotrophic interaction between plants and fungi (here: the root endophyte Serendipita
indica as a model).
