Prize for best PhD Thesis in 2017
HHU Düsseldorf awards PhD prize to Ruben Garrido-Oter

Congratulations to Ruben Garrido-Oter, group leader in the Department Plant Microbe Interactions, for having been awarded for the Best Thesis of the Year 2017 (out of 178 PhD theses) by Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf for his studies of the plant microbiota. In his thesis, he developed and applied computational approaches to elucidate the principles that govern how these communities are formed and to reconstruct their evolutionary trajectories.
The award "Best Thesis of the Year" is offered by the Rektor of the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf. It awards the best thesis of the year in each of the faculties of mathematics, medicine and philosophy. The price of € 2.500 for each faculty is awarded once a year.
